What is Wai Qi Liao Fa or External Qi Healing?

External Qi Healing – Treatment without needles

EQH, or External Qi Healing, is an ancient technique. It’s based on the idea that a healer’s energy can be used to influence the energy of the patient. It helps facilitate a shift in the patient’s own energy, creating more balanced state. It’s a means of supporting the natural self-healing process.
Basically, a practitioner cultivates their own energy to a point where they can share it. EQH is a non-touching modality. It’s based upon principles of Taoist philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. It works invisibly, but the results are easily visible.
External Qi Healing - Terry Fox

Terry Fox, L.Ac, applies EQH to a facial acupuncture patient.

Wu Dang External Qi Healing is a great modality for people who want the benefits of acupuncture but are deeply phobic of having needles inserted into their body.

It is very calming to the body.  Most patients report falling into a very deep state of relaxation – almost like sleep but still having a conscious awareness of their surroundings.
Wu Dang EQH differs from other energetic modalities. Its tradition is whole and unbroken, passed down through the centuries from Master to student. It differs from Japanese Reiki in that it isn’t a purely intuitive art but adheres tightly to TCM theory. Nor does it rely upon “secret symbols” for it to be effective. Unlike Therapeutic Touch, Craniosacral Therapy, or Medical Qi Gong, EQH does not add in scientific medical thought to make it more palatable the Western medical culture.Terry Fox, L.Ac., RMT has succeeded in attaining the 150-hour certification from Wu Dang Chen (Yun Xiang Tseng) in Wu Dang External Qi Healing. To learn more about external healing, please visit: DaoUSA Web site.
